I believe technology has the power to be a tool for students. It can be used to create a social element to a course, as the basis for a project or to help engage students.
http://mathandmus.weebly.com/- Here is a project website that I have created to help students learn to use spreadsheets for budgeting money by being the manager for a up and coming band, John and the Math-Cats. The website adds a different medium than textbooks or paper and gives the students to learn about the power of spreadsheets through a fun scenario.
Sound Doctor is a Bill Nye-esque video I created in order to explain the science of sound. The video could be used in a band class to integrate some science so students have an understanding of how sound works and how it travels. The video is filmed in sections so it could be watched as a whole or in clips as things like dynamics get talked about and students wonder why sound gets louder or softer.
http://potvinguitar.weebly.com/ - is a site I created for my guitar class at my spring practicum. The class has a heavy focus on personal growth and most students are playing different songs that they are learning from guitar tablature and/or recordings. The goal was to put many resources on here so that the students who wanted to start jamming with their friends could learn some scales without getting bogged down with too much with the theory. Many of the graphics and scale sheets were created by me using the notation program Musescore2.
